His sons Frank and Christian Käufer
inspired by their father’s ideas have developed them further and
expanded TFC which today is recognized as a world leader in designing
and constructing high quality cabin trainers. Furthermore TFC provides,
especially in its four Training Centers in Essen, Cologne, Munich and
Berlin, aviation training for pilots and cabin crew at its highest
stage.
The close combination of construction and training
raises TFC in a unique position being always in connection with the
latest trends. At the same time TFC is able to respond rapidly and
effectively with product improvements to meet our customer’s needs.
Managing Director Frank Käufer heads the technical
side of the company, while captain Christian Käufer, qualified for
Airbus A320, 321, 330, 340 and Boeing B737, 747, 757, 767, 777, manages
the TFC Training Centers. Frank Käufer and his team of engineers have
specialized in the construction and design of all Airbus, Boeing and
Embraer Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainers. TFC has also developed the
first official A380 Cabin Emergency Trainer for Airbus. Due to Frank
Käufer’s innovation and leadership and his excellent team of experts TFC
has become a market leader in all aspects of cabin crew training
equipment, especially for Airbus and Boeing operators.
In 2011 TFC bought the fomer linen and wool weavery
Conze&Colsman, a building from the 18th century, and got it
renovated within a few months. In 2012 TFC moved into the new
“historical” building with 16000 m² and can now cope with the increased
production volume and is able to combine administration, production and
storage under one roof. The new production hall for the A380 CEETs has
been refurbished in 2013.
Since February 1st 2014 TFC has been joind by
second managing director Mark Goossens besides Frank Käufer. Managing
Director Mark Goossens brings in his knowledge and experience in

Products :
Our highly sophisticated products have a worldwide reputation for their reliability and first-class quality.
- Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainer
TFC designs and manufactures Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainers that exceed the latest EU-OPS regulations. Any type of aircraft can be represented by using original aircraft data and layouts. Each device is customized to the individual training requirements. TFC devices are constructed using aircraft manufacturer’s data packages as well as customer’s unique specification and chosen layout.
All designs, software development, manufacturing, construction and testing is performed in-house at our 16.000 m² facility in Velbert, Germany. We deliver high quality products at reasonable costs within short lead times.
TFC will assist in identifying the training needs with the expertise in commissioning CEET systems for clients all over the world for more than 30 years. Using own products in TFC operated training centers allows us to forward experience to our customers’ benefit.
Each CEET is constructed to ensure the best possible training for cabin- and flight deck crews.
TFC equipment is built to withstand the harsh conditions of today’s training environment and complies with customer’s high expectations regarding reliability. Installing reinforced components and servo loop control systems for the simulated aircraft doors are only two examples that are characteristic for TFC training devices.
TFC Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainers can be provided with a real time visual system at the passenger- and door observation windows. Combined with sound effects to enhance the overall realism, training will create that “Situation Awareness”. The aircraft’s interphone system is fully replicated to address effective communication training with attention to Crew Resource Management- and Human Factors training.
All CEETs can be installed at ground level or at height with the option of fixed base or full motion system.
The Instructor monitors and controls the training by touch screens at the Instructor Operator Station (IOS). A fully digitalized camera system can be installed to monitor the training and to record the complete session for de-briefing.
One Step Ahead!
TFC developed the Portable Instructor Panel which enables the instructor to move through the cabin while keeping full control of the training device. WIFI connection gives advantage of location-independent interaction parallel to the IOS controls. Full access to the flight interphone system is realized by wireless headset.

- Door Trainer
TFC is specialized in the design and manufacture of Door Trainers that exceed the latest EU-OPS regulations. Any type of aircraft door can be supplied based on original aircraft data. Each device is customized to meet the clients individual training requirements.
TFC Door Trainers fully simulate the aircraft door in normal and emergency modes of operation. Door malfunctions such as handle blocked, door blocked, slide inflation failure, power assist failure, as well as door observation window scenes like fire, water, stairs, obstructions etc. are standard features of our products. All functions and simulated malfunctions are controlled by the touch screen Instructor Operator Station.
The TFC developed control system with up to three electric servomotors control the angular movement, forces and speed of the door in normal, abnormal or emergency operation reflecting the actual aircraft door in feel and force. Furthermore this technology provides ease of maintenance and sustained reliability.
TFC Door Trainers are robustly designed and easy to use for day-to-day operation. Door Trainers can be placed at ground level or at operational height enabling slide training from the open door.
Service Trainer
Wide and narrow bodied Cabin Service Trainers are being constructed in accordance to our customer’s aircraft layout and design
The CST’s interior is replicated to create a realistic environment for in-flight service training. Replicating any aircraft configuration, these devices are equipped with overhead stowage bins, Passenger Service Units (PSU), lavatories, galleys, cabin lighting systems, Attendant Call Lights and Attendant Indication Panels (AIP). The 400 Hz power supply is provided to operate ovens and coffee makers.
